Over the years people knew that you had to be a code expert to create a website (meaning that you had to know HTML very well.) However this has developed through the years of services working-hard by experimenting with HTML and CSS but fortunately all that work has paid of and now services services provide people to create websites and blog for free without the HTML madness! On the other hand not all services provide all of their resources for free so another sad point that you have to pay them a lot of money to receive those tools(they sometimes call it the premium package.)
The reason why more people create blogs instead of websites is because in blogs you can customize your blog to suite your needs so for ex. you can upload a custom theme to match with your blog whether you pay or not so with theses customization options, that's why people intend to create blog instead of websites.
So here’s my 18 tips on how to make your blog look like a website.
- Creating a Static Page:Static Page is like a home page you see on a website. First what do you do is create a home page, like a welcome page or something like that then before publishing it:Go to Post Options on the bottom of the page and set the date into the future and then click on publish. Then to make sure that only your static page appears when people visit your blog, what you have to do is go to:Layout and click on edit under Blog Post and then set the the number of blog posts to 1 and click on save. .
- Choosing A New Template:To make it look like a website you should choose a new template.I suggest you choose a left-navigation template.
- Add a Custom Header :A another way to make your blog look like a website.
- Remove the Date,Time & Comment Stamps:To remove them simply click on edit on Layout- Blog Posts
- Remove Subscribe To Atom:On the bottom of the page.First click on Settings then Site Feed then select None and save.
