Internet Connection Solutions

Losing your internet connection can be really frustrating whether you got disconnected or its just not working.Fortunately there are some useful solutions to resolve these problems.

There's no internet Connection:

• Check your home phone for a dial tone,if not call your ISP (Internet Service Provider) for help.

• Shut down your computer and turn off your router.After a minute switch them on again.

• Check your microfilters:make sure all the phone sockets in use at your home have a microfilter in them.It's best if the microfilter connected to your router is plugged into
  the master telephone socket,usually by the front door.

• Make sure devices such as a Sky Tv box,cordless phone or baby monitor aren't interfering .
  

• Try connecting your computer directly to the yellow Ethernal cable provided.

The Connection is really slow:

• Test your internet connection is on by reconnecting the yellow Ethernet cable.Now check the microfilters and sure your router is connected to your home's master telephone socket.It usually make things faster.And move any other wireless devices away,as they can affect your wireless connection.

• Avoid using ADSL extension cables between your microfilter and router.The grey ADSL cable will give the best possible speed.

• If you have an anti-virus programme.run a sacn to check you haven't been hit by a virus or spyware.If you don'y have secuirty software,or its not up to date,you have more chance of being hit with a virus or spyware.

Can't browse the internet?:

• Reconnect the yellow Ethernet cable to test your internet speed.

• Make sure there are no spelling mistakes on the website name or try a different website

• Check you've not selected 'Work Offline'' in the ''File'' menu in your web browser.

If you still can't surf,restart your computer and router then turn them on.
